Service-dog training & disability advocacy

If you are a handler working toward service-dog goals with your own dog, Carolyn offers a respectful, individual conversation about training fit and your learning goals — plus free disability-rights education for anyone who needs it.

What this service is

This is not a credential, a certification pathway, or an instant qualification. It is an individual coaching relationship for a handler and their own dog: we talk through your goals, your dog's learning history, welfare needs, and daily management, and then train learned skills step by step using the same humane, LIMA-oriented methods used across all Just A Pup programs.

Individual goals & training fit

Every inquiry starts with a conversation about what you are trying to accomplish and whether the goal fits your dog, your household, and the scope of this service before anything is scheduled.

Welfare & suitability discussion

Not every dog is suited to service-dog work, and we will say so plainly. Stress, health, development, behavior history, and temperament all matter. We do not promise that any dog is suitable for service-dog work.

Task training discussion

We can discuss how learned assistance tasks are trained and practiced. We do not claim or provide medical-alert, mobility-assistance, or any other specialized performance capability, and we do not issue credentials.

Honest scope

What this service is not

  • We do not promise service-dog suitability for any dog.
  • We do not train, certify, or guarantee medical-alert or mobility performance.
  • We do not provide specialist certification or accreditation.
  • There is no such thing as official ADA registration or certificates, and we do not offer any.
  • We do not provide legal representation or guarantee public access rights.
  • No paid handler kit is available — this program is inquiry-based only.

Disability advocacy

Free education & referrals, no purchase required

Disability advocacy here means free education and referrals — never paid advice. Our plain-language guide summarizes the federal ADA rules for service animals and links to official U.S. Department of Justice resources you can use to learn more or file a complaint. When a question involves health, specialized skills, veterinary care, or legal matters, we direct you to qualified professionals rather than guessing.

Free, ungated guide

Federal service-animal rights explained simply.

No email, purchase, or registration required — read it whenever you need it, with links to official DOJ guidance.
